Audacity
The tool that I chose to make my audio project was Audacity. I chose this tool
because it was the best and easiest to use out of all of the tools that I found
on the web, also it came preloaded on my computer so I was able to use the tool
even when I didn’t have internet access, so I was able to work on my project on
bus rides to games. The process I took to creating my project was very simple,
though at first I had some difficulties because I did not know how to turn on my
microphone so I was stuck preparing the background music without being able to
turn in the finished project. First I took two songs that I wanted to use in the
video and cut them down to thirty seconds either by meshing different parts
together, as I did with Gangam Style, or just cut out a thirty second segment,
as I did with Good Time. Next I put both of these segments into one audacity
file and added effects to them; for both of them I used the same effects, I made
the entire piece fade in then fade out, so that way I wouldn’t have to worry
about changing the sound level on my recorded segment and the music segment,
because the music would be soft already because of the fades. Next I combined
the two music segments, so I was done with the background music. Next I recorded
my voice simply by pressing the record button while my microphone was on.
Afterward I took the recorded audio and cut out any of the really bad errors
that were in it, and shortened the pauses between me speaking. Next I took the
recorded file and positioned it with the audio which completed my project.
There were not many issues with the tool because it was very useful the only
problem I had was with myself because I did not know why I couldn’t record,
then I found out my microphone was off, so that solved my problem. I would use
this tool again because it was very useful and easy to use and it is easy edit
small amounts of audio allowing you to get rid of small errors.
